Radio Universidad de Santiago will be the first experimental digital radio station in Chile

  • After signing a strategic partnership with Universidad de Santiago, represented by its President Juan Manuel Zolezzi, Rodrigo Ramírez, Undersecretary of Telecommunications of the Chilean Government, visited Radio Universidad de Santiago to learn in situ about its technical equipment and the work done by this public means of communication that will become the first experimental digital radio station of the country.


Universidad de Santiago welcomed Ela Gandhi

  • Ela Gandhi, renowned peace activist and granddaughter of one of the most important thinkers of the 20th century, visited Universidad de Santiago in the context of an activity organized by the International Center of Social and Cooperative Economy of the Faculty of Administration and Economics of the university. 



Universidad de Santiago moved up in QS Latin America Ranking

  • Universidad de Santiago was ranked 16th in the 2018 Quacquarelli Symonds Latin American University Ranking. Nationwide, Universidad de Santiago was ranked fourth, behind, Pontificia Universidad Católica, Universidad de Chile and Universidad de Concepción. According to the survey, there are 3,700 universities in Latin America and Universidad de Santiago is among the top 1% of the best universities.



Universidad de Santiago signs an agreement with the University of Michigan

  • The frame agreement between the two universities has the purpose of forging links in areas like student and academic exchange, professor and researcher training and continuing education, courses, seminars, conferences, workshops and publications.



The internationalization process of Universidad de Santiago de Chile has taken a step forward thanks to the new frame agreement signed with the University of Michigan, USA.

Universidad de Santiago de Chile signs agreements with Korea University

  • During the signing ceremony, Dr Juan Manuel Zolezzi, President of Universidad de Santiago de Chile, highlighted that one of the goals of the university is to constantly work for the internationalization of the institution to give students and professors professional development opportunities abroad. 



Universidad de Santiago moves up in the 2017-2018 edition of the QS World University Rankings

  • Universidad de Santiago de Chile moved up to the 451-460 rank among the main universities worldwide and was again at the third place nationwide.



Universidad de Santiago de Chile moved up 20 positions in the QS World University Rankings, the renowned international survey that assessed 959 higher education institutions in 84 countries in 2017-2018. Universidad de Santiago is featured in the 451-460 rank and it keepst the third place nationwide, behind Universidad Católica (137) and Universidad de Chile (201).

U de Santiago strengthens links with Guatemala

  • The Guatemalan Ambassador Rita Claverie de Sciolli, visited Universidad de Santiago and met with Dr Juan Manuel Zolezzi, President of the University, to strengthen the links between her country and the university, particularly in relation to educational matters.



Universidad de Santiago is the leading state university in patenting

  • Universidad de Santiago filed 24 patent requests in 2016. Currently, it has 180 patents being processed, 83 granted patents, and 20 transferred patents in 27 different countries.



In the context of the World Intellectual Property Day, Universidad de Santiago was recognized again by the National Institute of Industrial Property (Inapi, in Spanish) in its patent request ranking of 2016. The university got the third place, being the state university that filed more patent requests last year.

Chilean President officially opens Universidad de Santiago’s Law School

In her speech, the Chilean President Michelle Bachelet highlighted that Universidad de Santiago is a space that promotes dialogue and trains leaders, focused on the historical processes of our society and fully committed to our country.


Universidad de Santiago de Chile officially opened its new Law School in a ceremony headed by the Chilean President Michelle Bachelet Jeria; the President of Universidad de Santiago, Dr Juan Manuel Zolezzi Cid, and the Dean of the new School, Roberto Nahum Anuch.

QS Rankings: Universidad de Santiago de Chile is the third best university in Chile and leader in Arts and Humanities

  • Universidad de Santiago was ranked among the 200 best higher education institutions worldwide in the subjects of Linguistics, Sociology, and Art and Design, according to the prestigious British QS Rankings.
